How the Free Blog Starter Kit Works:

  • You buy a domain name and hosting package (once you contact me, I will walk you through how to do this using my preferred hosting provider. To be eligible for my free service, you will have to buy your hosting using my promo code. That’s the only catch, baby!)
  • I install the self-hosted version of WordPress which basically gives you an instant blog
  • You choose either 1) a free professional-looking theme of your choice or 2) a premium theme from my recommended list below
  • You give me access to your account
  • I set up your blog within 72 hours! (I will never keep the passwords associated with your account. Once we’re through, I delete your emails; you change your login if you want.)

What Comes With My Free Blog Starter Kit

  • WordPress installation, the best blog software there is!
  • Installation of a free or premium theme of your choice
  • Blog migration: If you already have a blog on Blogger or WordPress.com (the free version of WordPress), I can move the posts and comments over for you. Please note that your old posts will not automatically redirect to your new site, and you’ll probably want to let your old blog readers know you’ve moved to a new address.

What Does Not Come With My Free Blog Starter Kit

  • The cost of hosting (if you use my preferred hosting provider, it will run you about $84 for an annual plan that includes 12 months of hosting and unlimited phone support)
  • The cost of your theme, if you choose a premium one instead of a free one (my recommended premium themes cost $32-$87)
  • Tech support from me: For that, you can contract with me for blog coaching sessions in 1/2 hour or 1 hour increments. The great thing is that if your site “breaks” for whatever reason, you can always call your hosting company!

  • RSS and email subscription set-up: I can help you set up a Feedburner account that will allow your readers to subscribe to your blog by email or RSS. I will also place the code on your site so you can start getting subscribers right away!
  • Mailing list set-up (includes “pop-up” option): I can set you up with Aweber, which is what I (and most professional bloggers) use to collect email addresses on my own sites. I’ll set you up from A to Z and put a signup form on your site so that people can join your email list. I can even make your sign-up form “pop-up” automatically when people visit your site!
